Why did you become an assistant coach with the Hornets?I started assistant coaching because I loved cheerleading and wanted to spend as much time as I could doing it. Also, I wanted to help other girls wanting to do cheerleading and see them peforming a routine I'd taught them and watch them enjoy it just as much as I do!

Why did you become an assistant coach with the Hornets?

In 2008, I was given the opportunity to become ‘assistant coach’ at our recreational squad, this has lead me to completing 3 different coaching qualifications. I am very grateful for these opportunities and am inspired by the experience that I have gained.

I help every Thursday night with rec squad, assisting Jo and Amy, I help look after the girls, and assist with tumbling, stunts, dance and cheer. It has introduced me to all the younger girls in the Hornets who I wouldn’t have met if I hadn’t been coaching.

I also help with my school cheerleading club at Rossett School on a Monday night. School paid for me to attend the Nation Council for Spirit Safety and Education training course, and I am now a qualified coach.

I hope to go to university in a years time, hopefully a uni with a great cheerleading team so I can carry on!

I have been involved with the Hornets for almost 4 years now and I have learnt so much and gained so many friends, and also kept fit at the same time!
