It's a great time to be a cheerleader with the Hornets - we're going from strength to strength. In 2009 we split the recreation squad into two squads - recreation (a non-competing squad) and level 1 which competed for the first time in Blackpool in December 2010.

We have options to suit all abilities, ages (ranging from 4-16) and social calendars. It's important to remember that cheerleading incorporates dance, vocals, tumbling (gymnastics), motion technique, jumps and stunting and when being placed in a squad the coaches aim to place members where they can build their skills best. Most members start at recreation and move through level 1 to level 2 but some new members may join at the higher levels, dependant on ability, age and experience.

Details of the requirements for each squad is below. Visit the join us page for full details on how to become a Hornet.
